Corduroy is a popular look for fall and winter and it's easy to see why. The vertical lines on this cool weather favorite is slimming and forgiving. This week we are styling a couple of our corduroy pieces to show you how effortlessly stylish this fabric is. Check out below to see five ways we styled corduroy!

One of my favorite trends from when I was younger that is coming back this Fall (omg I sound old) is leopard print! I used to exclusively call it "cheetah print" at the ripe age of 16 because it sounded way cooler but now I think "leopard" is more socially acceptable. However you say it, it's made a comeback! I love pops of leopard accessories or even leopard tanks, but I just about hyperventilated when I saw our new leopard corduroy skirt.
I'm usually a pretty basic dresser, especially when it comes to prints. I almost always take the safe route and pair a solid color like I did this week. Although our mock neck long sleeves are considered a "basic," they are far from it. I love how fitted they are and have just the right amount of height up the neck, but they don't overly accentuate any little rolls you might have (or not even known that you had.) You can wear your tight mock neck without skipping taco Tuesday!
Because it's finally feeling brisk outside, I paired our new black denim sherpa collar jacket. I LOVE the vintage look of this jacket! You get the feel of the nineties without having to scour Goodwill all season.
Finally, I added a hat because it is definitely not wash day today for my hair, and added some of my favorite jewelry items we have right now. When it comes to metals, I like to lean towards silver and antique-looking gold. I thought these earrings and necklace gave the perfect hint of "I like to accessorize" without feeling like an 13 year old after a Claire's shopping spree. Come snag a leopard skirt and join the club!

Who says you can't wear a mini skirt during Fall?! Pair it with a sweater and you've got yourself a nice little outfit! This week we are featuring some beautiful corduroy pieces. I chose a burgundy mini skirt because no color screams "cold weather" to me more. Berry tones are by far my favorite to sport during this time of year. I love that corduroy is making it's rounds in the fashion world again. It's a really nice, durable fabric. I also really like the funky texture it brings to your outfit.
A mini skirt can be really versatile! You can dress it up a little make it flirty like I did here by keeping your legs bare and a wearing some flats or heels. Paired with this gorgeous chunky sweater it keeps you fairly warm. If you're romping around with the family during the weekend you could definitely opt for some of our cozy fleece lined leggings and a relaxed pair of boots.
This black sweater is so soft and comfortable. You all know how much comfort matters to me! It's not very often I will compromise on comfort for cute. With this outfit you get the best of both worlds! I like that this sweater hits me a little lower on the hip and is actually very flattering. I've had issues with sweaters like this in the past cutting me weird and making me look bulky. None of that funny business here!
I chose some of our more dainty jewelry for my accessories that way it didn't distract too much from the outfit as a whole. The gold sparkles so nicely against deeper hues. I'm a very big fan of our new rings. They are sterling silver with cubic zerconia crystals. At $18 each you can't pass them up! Stunning sparkle and quality. I think they look so beautiful and really make any manicure pop!
If you've been feeling nervous about the corduroy trend, I hope that this gives you a few ideas of how you can style it. This skirt also comes in a cat-tastic leopard print if you're feeling brave!
Here we are halfway into November and still lucky enough to be enjoying this Sunny and 70 degree weather. I'm not sure if I should be celebrating this or feeling left out from not being able to wear chunky sweaters and rain boots like everyone else on my Instagram feed. So in honor of that this week I styled an outfit that can get you through these uncertain climate related times. Its light and free while also staying true to the textures and fabrics of fall. Basically you can look Autumn worthy without going into shock from heat exhaustion!
I chose our new black corduroy overall jumper for a comfy casual look. this jumper is so cute and versatile which is great, plus maintenance free for my hectic GO, GO, GO lifestyle. I slipped our mauve cold shoulder bodysuit underneath the dense heavy feeling overalls for contrast and to add a weather conscious element. The mauve hue of this bodysuit looks great against any skin tone and is comprised of a nice tight spandex material.
I finished off this look with our teddy midi coat in apricot, Its over-sized with a nice bulk feel. I think the trick to this look was to combine a form fitting pieces with a bulky ones to accomplish a yin/yang effect. These two items marry together quite harmoniously.
For my accessories I chose a pair of silver hoop earrings. I love these earrings so much that this is the second time that I have styled them in one of my outfits. That's how cool and versatile they are...you can wear these hoops with anything! The next item that I chose to accessorize my outfit was our black wide brim hat. This hat is really nicely constructed and feels very expensive even though its only $42 and made of thick wool. What I love about this hat is that the brim has a straight non floppy look which has a more winter worthy feel. I hope that you enjoyed my styled look this week!
This weeks item that we're featuring is so fun to me. I was obsessed with everything cheetah and leopard print when I was younger. It started with Shania Twain because she wore a cheetah jacket in one of her music videos and I begged my mom to get me one just like her. The obssesion continued when the movie Cheetah Girls came. I mean it's pretty self explaintory. They all rocked chettah and made the early 2000's obsessed with the print.
For my outfit I chose the leopard skirt. Leopard is a great pattern to play around with when it comes to pairing it with different colors and patterns. I chose to pair it with a grey and white striped button down. The stripes work well with the leopard and the grey paired well with the brown and black as well.
To accessorize it I chose this adorable ring that we just got in the store and then of course pair it with some fun earrings and a good heeled bootie for the season. Cheetah Girls forever!
Thank you for dropping by! We hope you enjoyed these outfits and get some inspiration for wearing corduroy!

Did you know that Sacramento used to be below sea level? Since it flooded so often the city was raised and many attics became basements. A lot of businesses were then below street level. There are still underground tunnels in Old Sacramento and they even have tours for them! As locals to Sacramento it's easy to forget about Old Sac, but there's a reason why it's visited by so many people each year. There are a lot of have fun things to do and yummy restaurants to eat at. We have put together a style guide for dressing up for a day at Old Sacramento!
Right now is one of the best times to enjoy all that our charming Old Sacramento has to offer! The air is crispy and fresh which makes an old town adventure more bearable for walking around and enjoying the sights. My husband and I love visiting the shops, especially Evangalines and the costume mansion, your one stop shop for anything gifty and unique. Even though Halloween is over the costume mansion is always a must visit now that its open all year round you can ride the spooky elevator as much as you want.

Our next favorite stop is Christmas and Co. the coolest holiday ornament shop in Sacramento, they have all the ornaments of your wildest dreams. For example if your looking to trim your Christmas tree with assorted mermen this year...well you're in luck because they've got you covered! With every visit to Old Sac we always end it with a strong cocktail from the Back Door Lounge bar, its really dark, old timely, always warmly empty, and you can find it in the alley around the corner from the Christmas decor store.
My Old Sacramento attire is always very casual and comfortable, there are definitely never any 6-inch heels involved, I'll tell you that. With all the cobblestones, wood plank floors, and uneven ground I recommend wearing comfortable shoes, It's legitimately like stepping back into the old west days there. My styled outfit this week is comprised of a linen tie waist dress and oyster gray leggings. I love this dress so much, it's a beautiful earthy rust color and made of 100% linen which is fabulous.
A really great aspect of this dress is the detail of the side tie, you can adjust it wherever you see fit as well. I am pretty tall and also being so bump-a-licious these days I opted to pair this adorable dress with a pair of super soft fleece lined leggings because this dress is a tad on the short side for my taste. They are one size fits most and we now have these leggings available in six different colors.
I really enjoyed playing around with my accessories this week, I feel like they added a cool bohemian vibe to my outfit. I chose a silvery gray velvet headband, a serious pair of chandelier statement earrings, and a gold bracelet. I feel like these three items pair perfectly together. The headband is in a turban style, and the earrings are a mixture of black and white malachite with black tassels, with gold metal accents. The dainty gold and rhinestone adjustable bracelet adds just a touch of sparkle to the look while also blending in nicely. I hope you enjoyed my old Sacramento adventure styled look this week.
It's always a great time visiting old Sacramento! With fall upon us, it's time to grab a jacket and head out for some fun!
With that theme in mind, I decided to go with a more casual look. I wore light blue high waist jeans, to accentuate the curves, and a relaxed fit black t shirt with a front knot accent. I added a short black leather jacket with silver hardware just in case it gets chilly during a walking adventure, and a great black hat. The jacket gave it a moto look and the length accentuated the derriere
A silver and black layered necklace, silver rings, silver stud earrings and heart shaped shades finished this ultra cool style. Grab your favorite pair of moto boots and you're ready for a walk on the cobblestone roads and wooden walkways to lots of fun. Whether it be Evangeline's for the kid in you, Garden of Enchantment for crystals and the like, or the Underground Tasting Room for a few drinks, you're dressed to kill!
I love hanging around Old Sacramento and being a tourist in my own city! There is so many fun things to do and food to eat. The weather is starting to be just perfect for date nights there.
I went with a super cozy gray off the shoulder sweater and distressed denim jeans! These two go together and make the perfect duo for a sassy but comfortable look around town. The off the shoulder style of the sweater takes this effortless outfit to the next level, catching eyes from every one around!
Because I wore darker colors for my outfit, I wore a unique pair of turquoise earrings to bring out the color and pop! The earrings added more fun and sass to my outfit than it already had. I wore gray and black marble bracelets to match my sweater and completed my look with a simple silver eye necklace.
This is a look that I can wear all night without being uncomfortable and freely move about my day in Old Sac. The possibilities of fun is endless here; from trying on costumes at Evangeline's to grabbing fries and a shake at Willie's Burgers!

Sometimes when I tell people I'm from Sacramento they give me sad eyes or say, "I'm sorry..." Even though it's happened to me many times in my life, I'm always so surprised by it! Sacramento is such a great city with so many things to offer. One of my favorite things about Sacramento is it's history. So many important events took place in our little city! I think a lot of people who haven't spent a good amount of time here don't realize how much of a treasure it truly is and that's why this week's themes is one of my favorites so far- a day in Old Sac!
There are so many fun things to do in Old Sacramento, whether that's going out for a bite to eat, shopping the unique stores, or exploring the railroad museum. Old Sac is also extremely family friendly, so if you have young kids like I do, there are plenty of things to keep them entertained as well!
I wanted to keep my outfit more comfortable (as usual) because typically you do a lot of walking in Old Sac. I didn't want anything too cumbersome, so I opted for black skinny jeans, a flannel, and a scarf to keep me warm!
If you've never tried KanKan brand denim, I highly suggest you do! They are SO stretchy, comfortable, and always have the best styles. They are also very reasonably priced for good quality jeans! The black on this high waist style is very true to color. No fading or weird grey hues here. I usually prefer something with a little distressing, but there is something about the clean lines of this pair that is super chic and classy. These would be so easy to dress up with a nice pair of heels and a fancier top.
Our flannels are AMAZING. They are fleece lined! I am a flannel addict, and I can't believe I've never thought of something so genius. I love that I am warm and can forgo a jacket even when it's colder at night. It also comes in several different colors if the black and white isn't your thing. I chose the black and white so I could do a pop of fun color with my scarf! The traditional red and black buffalo is my favorite type of plaid, but I thought I'd step outside of my box this time.
Let's talk about this cozy scarf- it's cute and functional! I'm really enjoying rust tones for fall too, so I couldn't pass this one up. Scarfs are a great way to keep warm and accessorize! I also had my eye on this dainty little evil eye necklace. I think it adds a little charm to the outfit without being overbearing next to the plaid print. If you're reading this and haven't had a chance to visit Old Sacramento, I really hope you get the chance to! There are so many wonderful things about this vintage part of our town that are not only educational, but really fun as well.
Old Sacramento has a special little place in my heart so doing an outfit for it this week is so fun to me! When my and my fiance first started dating he had taken me to the top of a parking garage in Old Sacramento that looked over the yellow bridge and all of Sacramento and asked me to be his girlfriend, so there's some sweet little memories in this spot.
For my outfit I wanted it to be pretty casual and easy to move around in but still super cute. I chose a pair of dark distressed jeans and with a white long sleeve tucked in. I paired it with this cute burgandy cardigan that is so soft and perfect for a day out exploring. It's easy to take on and off if needed and light enough so you don't get too warm.
To accessorize it I chose a longer necklace but that's still pretty dainty so I don't have a large piece of jewelry getting in my way all day long. Added a black flat brim hat because it's my favorite thing to add to an outfit to pull it together. Throw on some cute clogs and you're ready to go!
One of my favorite childhood memories was driving over the Tower Bridge from Sacramento to West Sacramento for ballet classes. We didn't go out to many places, so it was always a treat to go over the bridge (while listening to Funky Town). So, it's no surprise there is a special place in my heart for Old Sac. For this week's look I went with a floral midi dress, great for exploring the dusty streets of historic Old Sacramento.
This wrap dress is really comfortable and flirty at the same time. Since this dress is a bit more fancy I would suggest a little afternoon to evening date. First, check out Candy Heaven for some sweet treats then a little tour at the Railroad Museum. For dinner go to the Delta King for the Suspects Mystery Dinner. Then to end the night take a scroll around the Tower Bridge.
To make this a bit more casual and safe for roaming around Old Sacramento I opted for my trusty Rothy's pointed flats. They're so comfortable and stylish at the same time, plus I can toss them in the washer after wearing them all day and night. Since my dress is a bold floral print I went with more dainty gold jewelry. I went with my favorite moon cutout earrings, a simple wire heart necklace, and a simple bar bracelet. This dress is perfect for all the photos you'll take in Old Sac!
Thanks for visiting this week. We hope you enjoyed our outfits for a day at Old Sacramento!
A wardrobe staple is a piece that you can wear from day to play. These new cuffed trousers are exactly that! The partial elastic band adds comfort and cinches at just the right place for a flattering look. The pockets will hold your cards for a quick lunch break and the cropped cut will let you wear your favorite statement shoes. Peep below for some style ideas with our new cuffed trousers!
Yay for a new week! This week we are showing these fun trousers! Let me tell you, for being so short a lot of these kinds of pants just eat me alive, but not these ones! They were so comfortable and completely formed to my body. There's three different colors to choose from, which is always great!
For my outfit this week I chose to go with the black cuffed trousers. I usually don't wear too much black so I thought it would be good to try this color out this week! Since I chose the black ones I wanted to make sure that I paired it with a little bit of a brighter color on top. I chose this mustard blouse with these adorable ruffles on the top. These trousers are so great to either dress up for work or down for a weekend out. You could go to the office in just the trousers and the blouse and then once you left work throw on a denim jacket like I did to help dress it down a little bit.
To accessorize it I chose to keep it simple, like I always do with a pair of simple gold earrings. Because pretty sure I've never worn any silver jewelry in these photos. Girl sticks to her comfort zone haha. A fun bootie or heel are great with these pants, especially for me being shorter I needed a little bit of height added. A simple flat would go great with them to. Have a great week!
This week we are featuring our new loose fit crop pants that come in three different colors: black, camel, and olive green. A nice pair of cropped trousers is a must have basic item in any women's wardrobe. With the colder months approaching these are a great choice, I love the fact that they have such a simple appearance which means they will match up with a lot more items in your closet. They are great for dressing up oh so fancy, a laid back casual look, or somewhere in the middle like the outfit that I styled.
My look this week was styled for an up scaled daytime adventure, like a trip to the Crocker Art Museum and lavish lunch date with friends at Ilfornaio afterwards. I chose to pair the olive trousers with one of our popular mock neck long sleeve tops in black and our favorite slouchy cardigan in gray. These pants have a nice slouchy but tailored fit (the cuff detail at the bottom add a tailored appearance) and are comprised of non-itchy, breathable polyester. Another nice feature is that they have a stretch band in the back that makes them extremely comfortable and give the wearer free mobility during an active day. I feel like the mock neck top and bulky sweater paired nicely with these pants as far as color, fit, and textural contrast.
To accessorize this look I chose a pair of large silver hoop earrings, I love these earrings because they are super skinny hoops, they almost look like bent, thick gauged wire. They have a very minimalist, artistic vibe which I'm a huge fan of and I also love how shiny they are. I also chose to pair a necklace set with my outfit, this necklace is unique because its three totally different styled necklaces for the price of one! My favorite part about it though is the large wooden circle pendant on the bottom chain, the wood is actually stained black. So crafty and unique! So here was my styled rendition of an upper east side Saturday outing, I hope you enjoyed it!
Sacramento is definitely infamous for its weather and we are still feeling the heat as we are about to end October! But as the colder temperatures start to settle in I get more excited for different fall outfits to put together a these camel cuffed pants are going to be a fall favorite for sure.
For my outfit this week I went for a really warm look with black and brown colors. Comfort is what I'm all about all day so fortunately for me these pants will having me feeling like I'm lounging around the house but looking chic! I went with a black long sleeve turtle neck to stay extra warm. These two colors go perfect together creating the perfect vibes for fall activities.
I kept the same color scheme when it came to my jewelry and wore a dark brown bouton bracelet and black marble bracelet. I wore some funky gold and black dangly earrings to throw in a little flavor to my outfit! I finished off my look with a gold layered necklace to make my black shirt pop even more!
I see myself wearing this outfit for any errand or event I may have all season long! Perfect for a coffee date, brunch, and even the pumpkin patch! I for sure feel comfy in this outfit, now it's just time to wait for it to get colder in Sacramento so I can cozy up wearing it!
Wanna add a pair?
