One of the great things about living in Sacramento is how close we are to so many amazing camping spots. We are a short drive to all types of camping destinations. From glamping in Tahoe, to beach side overnight stays at Bodega Bay, or hiking in Yosmite, the possibilities are near endless. To celebrate a favorite past time we are sharing some of our camping inspired looks!
What better way to celebrate the summer season other than by going on a camping trip?! Camping is my absolute favorite and I always have the greatest times being outdoors with my friends! But as with any other event we partake in our outfits are a huge part!
I of course wanted to wear an outfit that was still stylish but was able to be comfy during all the camping activities. I went with a real basic look; a dark gray tank top and distressed shorts. Both these pieces of clothing are ideal for camping because they are very comfortable and soft making every movement easy.
I topped off my outfit with an over sized red flannel. The flannel is perfect because nights under the stars roasting marshmallows can get a little chilly and it's a great cover up.
I accessorized with a bouton bracelet because it still kept my outfit casual while still adding extra spunk to an ordinary look. I also wore a silver "happy camper" necklace because well.... why not?! Those are the cutest accessories to rock in the outdoors. This whole outfit ideal because I still felt really cute while being comfortable enough to rock it while hiking or lounging around by the fire!
I love being outdoors, hiking and camping, so this week's theme really speaks to me! Who doesn't love a LBD? Pair it with a flannel and you've got the perfect mix of feminine and rugged.
This outfit will be awesome transitioning into fall because you can tie the flannel around your waist during the day and throw it on at night when it gets a little colder. Is anyone tired of seeing me choose black yet!?
I absolutely LOVE these dog earrings! They remind me of my own dog, Emmett, and he loves to go hiking and camping too!
These adorable star necklaces reminded me of camping trips during the summer with my kiddos. I decided to mix metals to give the outfit a little more flare since it's pretty basic. I also added these gorgeous beaded bracelets with gold detailing. They're kinda earthy, and I'm digging it!
I would wear this outfit pretty much anywhere, but change my shoes depending on where I'm going. During the day I'd probably opt for something comfy, like my trusty Birkenstocks. At night I'd probably opt for some funky heels or even my Doc Marten's to add some extra edge.
With the theme of camping in mind, my style is all about comfort and functionality, while being stylish!
I went with a pair of cuffed distressed boyfriend jeans, a knotted black t-shirt, and an oatmeal cardigan. I added a print handkerchief that can be worn around the neck, or as a ponytail holder. I also added a black belt and a gold necklace with black detail.
Add a pair of boots and a hat, and you're ready to roast marshmallows by the fire side, or make a cocktail after setting up camp successfully!
Ah, the great outdoors, there's nothing better than fresh air and no cell service. Trust me I LOVE camping and anything that involves nature but I'm definitely no frumpy camper! Just ask my husband, the guy who has to set up our village sized tepee tent or lug around our kayaks (mines hot pink of course) every where we adventure to. So this week I was super pumped to style an outfit for one of my favorite hobbies, camping! My camping outfits are an exception to the just rolled out of your sleeping bag look and are sure not to disappoint either.
For my camping outfit I chose a moss green dress with a black and white buffalo check flannel shirt over it.This dress is great because its longer in length and has cute buttons that travel all the way down the front, it makes me feel very "Troop Beverly Hills"! It's a soft polyester midi dress that is super light weight and gives you full and free movement and it wont wrinkle up when you pack it, BONUS! I can see myself wearing this dress to the lake, or while on a walk through a wildflower meadow. Add the super soft button down and its perfect for cooking or sitting around the campfire telling ghost stories.
I opted for very few accessories because when your camping less maintenance is always best. You don't want to be uncomfortable or feel restricted, you just want to get going to the next fun adventure or activity. I chose a simple compass necklace which I felt was super appropriate and a star cluster hair clip. I thought the hair clip would look really cute worn when your stargazing at night! And that was the outfit that I created for a stylish but maintenance free camping trip!
Summer and camping go hand in hand. I grew up right next to beautiful lakes and spent weeks every single summer camping with my family and friends. So this weeks theme is a fun little reminder of all those good memories.
Personally when I go camping I want to be as comfortable as possible and don't want to worry if something gets dirty or wet. I want to be able to go swimming in the lake and then throw on clothes that won't get affected. For that reason I chose these cotton shorts and a simple tank top to pair together. The shorts are extremely comfortable and would dry very easily and the tank is a great piece to just throw on and enjoy the rest of your day. I also chose a denim jacket for when the sun starts to set and it gets a little cooler by the water.
To accessorize it I wanted to keep it very simple and easy. I chose a simple scarf and tied it on the end of my braid to give a fun little accent. Just because you're camping doesn't mean you can't be cute! Here's to fun days in the sun and the water.
I'm fortunate enough to live near so many amazing camping spots; however, I've never been camping! I imagine it's great pleasure to reconnect to nature, yourself, and with the company you go with. For my camping outfit I went for a relaxed look since I imagine I would want to be as comfortable as possible!
I paired our light blue chambray top with our new straight leg jeans. The chambray was a great idea because it's 100% cotton and breathable, great for light hiking. The straight leg jeans were a good alternative to skinny jeans to allow easy movement and bending (I feel like there would be a lot of bending and kneeling involved in camping). To stay warm I layered on a taupe knit sweater. The large pockets are great for holding snacks or chapstick.
I kept accessories to a minimal since you want to be fuss free! Camping is all about seeing the clear night sky, it was only fitting to wear gold moon cutout earrings and my zodiac adorned button bracelet. To add a bit of contrast I went with a mustard yellow belt to also help hold my pants up! All that's left is to make smores and drink hot chocolate!
We hope you enjoyed our camping outfits!
Thank you for joining us this week.
See you next week for more inspired looks!
Welcome friends! This week we are styling our new off the shoulder ribbed top. It comes in yellow and black. What makes this item stand out from other long sleeve tops is the lettuce edge detailing. It even has the details on the ends of the (extra long) sleeves! Check out how we each styled it below.
This ribbed off the shoulder top feels like luxury! It's so comfortable and stretchy, yet offers great style! It comes in black and mustard yellow. What girl doesn't want the best of both worlds?
I liked the simplicity of the top, so I decided to style the black top with a light wash distressed denim skirt. I decided on gold hardware, so I added gold stud earrings and a black choker with gold and rhinestone detail and a gold bar necklace. I continued with a black stone bracelet with gold detail, and I tied a black and white flannel shirt around my waist.
This look is great for casual gatherings with friends, or a final backyard barbecue before the summer officially comes to a close!
Hello there sunshine! Just looking at this little yellow top will make you smile! It's such a fun top and can be paired with so many options. The ruffled detailing on the top and end of the sleeves gives it an extra fun detail, making it a perfect piece to have in your closet!
I chose to pair this fun little yellow top with this adorable olive green button down skirt. The top tucks in to the skirt perfectly since its thin enough there's no bulky area when you tuck it in. The buttons in the skirt have tan and black in them so the yellow pairs nicely with them both and make them pop a little more.
To accessorize this outfit I chose a fun chunky necklace. I didn't want anything too long because of how the skirt hits a little bit above my waist. I stuck with more neutral colors to let the yellow shirt do all the talking for this outfit. Have a bright and wonderful day!
Well, here we are folks, in the dog days of summer and all I can think about is fall and a fresh chill in the air! So, with that in mind I decided to create an outfit that you can transition from summer to fall! who doesn't love to get their money's worth out of their fashion investments?
My outfit this week is styled around our black ruffled edge top. It’s a great basic item to have in your wardrobe year round, it’s a very light fabric that's perfect for layering. These days I love adding items to my closet that I know I can wear a bunch of different ways. My reasoning is that Its not just easier to have less in my closet but its also an environmentally conscious decision in the age of "designing for the dump."
With that in mind I paired the top with our new deep red midi skirt! I love this skirt because it’s made out of 100% cotton and has a nice heavy weight to it. Perfect for all seasons as well! The skirt is adorned with nine tortoise buttons down the front and cinched with a tie belt. These details feel super classic and timeless! In this outfit I feel super sophisticated while wearing it and I didn't even have to put in a lot of effort because it was just two pieces.
For my accessory choices I went pretty simple, I chose a pair of gold and acrylic earrings, a neckerchief, and a black wool hat. This earring style is modern/abstract and is very in right now! They add a artistic and fun vibe to my outfit and showcase my artsy and trendy side. If you know me at all you know that I love reinventing objects and giving them new life or purpose. When my effortlessly stylish coworker Kate styled one of our wool fedora's with a silk neckerchief last week for an Instagram post I was all for it! It's so cute and stylish, what a creative idea! So this week I wanted to showcase her killer idea, because I just love it! So here was this weeks outfit, I hope that you liked it!
With summer winding down I am really excited for fall. It's hard not to incorporate fall items into my wardrobe since its still averaging 95+ degrees. However, in the evenings it does have a bit of a chill. This off the shoulder lettuce edge top is great for evenings with it's longer sleeves. The light knit fabric is breathable and the off the shoulder cut balances the fittedness of the top. For this weeks look I wore the yellow version with floral shorts.
The yellow in the top brought out the yellow in the floral shorts. The outfit looks like summer nights and it's perfect for any last minute trips before school starts. The shorts are flowy and airy which I thought was also a nice balance for the fitted top. The contrast gives it a more casual feel.
To finish this look I wore my crescent moon necklace. The white marble brings just enough attention to the outfit without overshadowing anything. I kept my shoes simple with tan sandals. I would wear this look when hanging out in the later part of the evenings, either to a movie or bowling.
I'm SO ready for fall! This slightly cropped, off the shoulder top is the perfect summer-to-fall transition piece. I love how delicate and feminine the neck line is and it shows off just the right amount of skin without being too revealing. The long sleeves are perfect for night time since it's starting to get a little chilly!
This top also comes in a mustard yellow, but black is my go-to color and what I feel most confident in. I love how effortless jeans and a t-shirt can be, so that's why I chose this pair of edgy distressed denim. I threw on a black belt to tie everything together and add some more texture to the outfit.
I kept the accessories minimal because I really wanted to show off the neckline of the shirt. I threw on some dangly geometric earrings to be my statement piece. Aviators were the perfect finishing touch for me on this outfit. I'm never caught outside with out my sunglasses!
Wanna add this spicy piece to your wardrobe?
We hope you enjoyed this week's Styled By RIRE!
See you next week!
Hi, hi friends! For many people, August means back to school. It can be stressful going back to school after a long restful summer. The first week is always madness with no parking and lots of people all over campus. It can be dreadful trying to do drop-ins and hoping to get added in. The last thing you want to worry about is your outfit, but don't worry! We've put together some easy looks that won't break the bank (so you can still buy text books) and you'll be sure to get an A+ in style!
Hello August and Hello back to school! Growing up I remember the best part about going back to school was being able to go school clothes shopping with my mom. I have the greatest memories of those times with her spending hours with her in stores buying and trying on new outfits for the school year. Especially that first week of school and being able to show up in your brand new cute clothes! No better feeling than that.
When I think of the first day of school I want to look cute but still comfortable since its the first full day back after a long summer vacation. For my look I chose these adorable mustard pants, as soon as I saw these I was obsessed with them! I paired it with a black tank that I knew would tuck into the pants nicely and not bulge at all. I also am pairing it with a jean jacket just because it may be a little warm outside but classrooms can get a bit chilly so having a cute jacket to keep warm is always nice!
To accessorize it I chose a simple neck scarf to add a little bit of a fun detail. I also would choose some simple gold earrings and maybe some fun gold rings to tie it all together, but not overwhelm the neck scarf. For shoes a good strappy sandal would be fun with this if you were taller but because of me being on the shorter side I would opt for a shoe that has a little bit of a heel to give me some height! Here's to a great new school year!
One blink and summer break is already over! It was fun while it lasted but it is time to start getting prepared to hit the books again and the first way to prepare is with your wardrobe! Stepping on campus on the first day of school in a new cute outfit is always my fav!
I wore a yellow off the shoulder top to compliment my skin tone and really make it stand out and dressed it with a light washed distressed pair of jeans! When I'm at school comfort is my main priority and these two definitely makes me feel that way!
I decided to wear a gold coin layered necklace to add more to my outfit but still keeping it casual. I love this outfit because it's a simple back to school style but yet I can still look cute in it if I decide to hang out with friends somewhere after class!
The time has come for back to school shopping! There's always excitement for what the new school year will bring and also shopping for the new items that will get you through all the seasons to come! The outfit that I picked this week can be customized for hot or cold weather and that's what inspired me!
When I go to school I like to pick low maintenance pieces so that I can feel as comfortable as possible. I styled our navy jumper with a white and red striped turtleneck top. This jumper is awesome because its loose fitting and is comprised of a nice thick opaque material, you also have free and full movement with the adjustable shoulder straps. You can style the jumper with a top according to the appropriate season, I chose the this striped turtleneck with fall in mind. I also love the contrasting colors of the two pieces.
I accessorized this outfit with a navy blue fedora style hat and a black and gold scallop necklace. I think that the navy hat coordinates well with fall fashion and takes the outfit to a more style influenced level. The gold tassel necklace is also a great statement piece and reminds me of something Madewell would sell for twice as much money. My favorite aspect of this necklace though, is that it's adjustable and can be worn a bunch of different ways with a bunch of different outfits. The final result of this outfit is studious and stylish! Just because you want to be comfortable doesn't mean that you have to compromise your style!
In the spirit of back to school, I had to create a look that the high school me would approve of. I was always dressed "casual comfy cool" and I wanted to bring that feel to my style this week.
I went with a pair of light wash, stretchy distressed jeans, and an ultra comfy pink lavender bamboo tee. I tied the top on a knot, to show the coordinating belt, and to give shape to the relaxed fit. Since the belt had silver hardware, I decided to continue that pattern with a silver layered necklace and silver bouton bracelet. I continued with a white bouton cuff, multicolored teardrop stud earrings, and pink "cool kid" shades. I finished the look with an oversized gray cozy cardigan and floral print canvas shoes.
In this look, I'm ready for indoor and outdoor temperatures, and I'm comfortable enough to stay focused on my studies.. although I can't guarantee that for other students checking out my style!
Even though I have been out of school for three years now I still wake up in a panic thinking I'm late for class or that I forgot to study for an exam. While I was school I also worked many part time jobs so it was important for me to dress comfortable but also with some effort if I had to work after class. For this outfit I went with these brown corduroy skirt and navy ruffle blouse.
The structured skirt stays down so I don't have to worry about it blowing up while I run between classes. I also really like the big pockets, perfect for holding my chapstick. The navy blouse is a nice contrast against the brown color. Navy is typically a more polished and professional look but the ruffles and lace neck detail give it a feminine touch.
Since this look is really girly I topped it off with my favorite linked heart necklace. I also paired it with my brown oxfords for an extra studious look. The best part about this look is that it's great for after school activities because it's just so comfortable!
Thanks for dropping by and we hope you enjoyed this Back To School theme!
See you next time!
