Happy 2019 everyone! For many people a new year brings new resolutions and goals. We thought it would be fun for us to each try out something new that we wouldn't typically wear. After all, you won't know if you'll like it if you don't give it a shot!
Stepping out of your comfort zone in any aspect of your life can always be a little scary, from the biggest to smallest things, but it's usually always worth it in the end! This week is a fun theme which required me to step away from what I'm used to. I don't tend to stray away from my neutral color pallet and pretty much all cream wardrobe, whoops.
For my outfit I chose this fun striped jumpsuit that had many colors I wouldn't normally wear, but I still managed to sneak a little cream in there. I added a super fun hunter green long sleeve underneath it to add a pop of color that I would normally never do! And just like I said earlier, it was so worth taking that risk! It turned out to be so cute and exciting.
To accessorize it I paired it with an adorable layered necklace and big earrings. I added a white boot to add some height, because your girl needs all the help she can get. I hope this posts help inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and enjoy the risk!
Okay...how is it 2019? I literally blinked, Christmas came and went, and now I'm two weeks into the New Year trying to find the strength to leave my glutenous habits of 2018 behind me. Whoa! To kick off the New Year, we are choosing outfits that we would normally never wear. I love this idea! Nothing better than starting fresh with something new and challenging.
Let's be real, if I could get away with wearing all black every day of the year, I would. Color has always been a bit scary to me and I'm not really sure why... I guess I like to blend in rather than stand out. I really wanted to step outside of my box and try something different, so I chose this gorgeous striped jumpsuit!
If you've been following our blog for a while, you'll know that I'm super into the retro bohemian styles. This piece screams late 60's vibes to me and I. am. here. for. it! This apple-cinnamon color is NEVER something I'd lean towards, but when I actually got the jumpsuit on I was in love! The vertical stripes are unbelievably flattering and I actually really enjoy the different colors running throughout.
I paired the jumpsuit with some tan wedges, which was perfect in my opinion. It made my legs look a mile long! I love the crisscross cut of the neckline, and that the waist is more of an empire cut. Together, they make the already flattering stripes even more flattering (especially for those of us who have had babies...mom bod helloooo!). I never thought I could rock a jumpsuit, let alone a LOUD colorful one, but this was such a pleasant surprise. If you've been hesitant about this trend, I really urge you to try it. You'll be surprised just like I was!
To keep along with the 60's trend, I paired this outfit with a long fringed necklace. The details on this piece are beautiful. I am really into statement necklaces as of lately and I've had my eye on this one for a hot second. The hues are nice and warm, which ties in perfectly with the tones of the jumpsuit.
These wooden earrings are fairly out of my box too, but I felt like they were neutral enough to go with the outfit. They give off a fun, retro vibe too! They're super unique and not something I've seen anywhere else.
I hope the New Year is treating you well! Step outside of your box and try some new things, you'll be surprised by how fun and exciting it can be!
New years are all about taking chances and becoming a better you! Going into 2019 it's time to step out of the comfort zone... even if that means wearing something you normally wouldn't! I always see super cute outfits but think "I can never pull that off" but why not!
This week I decided to wear an olive green overall jumpsuit with a brown mock neck long sleeve. This is definitely one of those cute outfits I see styled all the time on Instagram but never dared to try and to my surprise I loved it!
I actually never wear earrings so I went with a pair of big snakeskin dangle earrings that really stood out. I topped of with a small and simple gold necklace that perfectly laid underneath the neckline of the long sleeve shirt. Both of these accessorizes go nicely with the warm colors of my whole outfit!
I loved the way I felt in this outfit and am adding it to my wardrobe list of favorite outfits to rotate during special occasions! Lol. It's perfect for these cold Sacramento days when you throw a large coat on!
Getting out of your fashion comfort zone can be difficult, especially as you age, change weight, etc. But sometimes grabbing an item that looks crazy on the hanger ends up being a chic blessing in disguise.
Personally, I tend to go for more structured and tailored bottoms. I have never worn a wide leg trouser out in public ever. It looks absolutely cute and effortless on others but I always felt too short to try it. I decided to try this trouser and pair it with a form-fitting top to balance out the volume of the lower half. Since I'm not used to such a statement pair of pants, I kept the accessories simple.
Next time you're out shopping, consider grabbing that crazy piece on the hanger. Even if it never leaves the dressing room, you might learn something new about yourself.
Happy New Year everyone! A huge trend right now is animal print. My style is a lot more relaxed and casual, so animal print is something I typically shy away from. However, I'm really feeling it this time around!
Even though the top is wild for my tastes I decided to take this theme to the next level (for myself) and pair it with a fitted hunter green suede skirt! WHO AM I? Actually, I ended up falling in love with the skirt! It has two layers to create the tied look and I loved that the double layer helped hide any lines from the bodysuit. The knot in the front was flattering and the gathering also helped conceal my tummy area.
I went with gold accessories for this outfit to add even more pizzazz! I really like the mixed materials of the earrings. To me the earrings look like the "dark side" of the moon combined with the sun. My Y necklace is a simple, dainty piece that I tucked into the top. Since I don't really wear heels, I only had black flats, but this outfit would be great with heels!
We hope this post inspires you to try something new this year.
Thank you for stopping by!
In case you haven't noticed how fast this year has flown by, Thanksgiving is just a few days away! Haven't found the perfect outfit yet? The girls at RIRE have you covered! This week we're featuring our favorite turkey day ensembles that will make you feel cute but also comfortable enough to go back for that third plate of sweet potatoes.
Turkey time is just in a few days and I am already thinking about all the food to be eaten! Thanksgiving is the one holiday that I definitely plan my outfit with the idea that I need some extra breathing space once I'm finished eating! Lol. (While also still looking cute of course).
For this fun holiday I went with warm colors all around and wore a cream turtle neck sweater and cheetah corduroy mini skirts that pops right when you see it! The sweater and skirt both give me that comfortable to move around all day without feeling confined in my clothes (even after eating all the pumpkin pie).
I kept my accessories soft colored too just as I did with my outfit. I rocked a brown beaded half circle necklace! The long length of the necklace compliments the turtle neck of the sweater making them look super cute paired together.
I matched with my skirt and wore a pair of oval cheetah earrings and finished off with a simple brown bead bracelet with a caramel velvet scrunchy. Overall this look makes me feel simple and sweet but super cute all at the same time. This is definitely gonna be the perfect Thanksgiving outfit to be in!

So, we've finally hit that stage of Sacramento weather where we've gone from summer to winter. We had a couple real fall days and then it immediately went to freezing cold over night. Either way, I'm happy for the colder weather and the holiday season! Thanksgiving has always been one of my favorite holidays because of the food, but also because it's an opportunity to reflect and teach my kids what it means to be thankful. I also really enjoy the extra time I get to spend with my friends and family!
I like to dress up for holidays, but for Thanksgiving in particular I need to have room to breathe after I inhale all of my delicious food! So, for that I chose this marsala t-shirt dress! I love muted tone of this dress. It still feels seasonally appropriate and more chic than just throwing on a t-shirt with jeans. The length is really nice too, not too short! It also has a high-low hemline which I find to be very flattering. The material is lightweight and moves really well, but doesn't feel flimsy or like it's going to show off any rolls after eating a ton of food!
I decided to put a pair of our amazing fleece lined leggings under the dress for some added warmth. I can't rave enough about these leggings. They're perfect for the colder months. They're also SUPER stretchy! You already know where I'm going with this. Eat the night away, girl! I'm also living for this distressed denim jacket. I love how much edge it gives a "pretty" outfit. It actually provides a good amount of warmth as well! And you should all know me by now, black is my favorite color to wear. I couldn't pass this one up.
Since this t-shirt dress is a little more understated you can totally play up your accessories. I love the look of layered necklaces, so I picked this three tiered moon necklace. Very boho and pretty! I opted for some tiny star studs to keep in theme with the moon necklace. I feel like if you're going to go busy on a necklace, you should go a little more dainty with your earrings that way they don't overpower each other.
If you choose an outfit like mine, or decide to go full comfy in your favorite pair of sweats this Thanksgiving, I hope that you're surrounded by people you love and good food. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanksgiving is a great time for food and fellowshipping. But in my family, it's also a fashion show! With this theme in mind, I decided to go a little over the top with my look!
I went with a pink spaghetti strap pencil dress, with a midriff cutout and side split detail. With the dress being such a statement piece, it was just a matter of jazzing it up with accessories.
I went with a gold rose necklace, and a longer gold and marble pink detail necklace. I continued the gold trend by adding gold detail rings and cream marble stud earrings in a gold setting. I tied an eggplant and pink detail scarf around by bun, and finished the look with an oversized toffee colored teddy bear overcoat. Add your favorite heels, and this look is sure to win the most fashionable at the family function.

Thanksgiving week is finally here and I couldn't be happier! I love being able to relax with family and eat a yummy meal. I usually opt for the largest sweater I own and stretch pants, but this year I'm excited to style a cute outfit and be prepared for family photos. Last week we styled our corduroy skirts and I loved the leopard one so much, I decided to style the burgundy one this week. I love how fitted they are without being too tight. You can also size up if you like a more lose fit. Either way, these skirts make your outfits effortlessly trendy.
I went with a fitted black top. I love the sleek look of the black top against our brown plaid jacket. Most blazers are a bit uncomfortable to me, but I couldn't believe how soft this one is! It has more of a relaxed feel, and although its warm, it's definitely not constricting like a larger warm coat. Another plus, it will be great for hiding my food baby.
Finally I finished off this look with a layered necklace featuring some bead detailing. The layered trend is probably one of my favorites this season, so I like to add it in most of my outfits. Luckily, we carry a variety of layered accessories!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday! I try to squeeze as many dinners as I can, what's not to love? All food, comfortable clothes, and no pressure of gifts. Count me in! For my Thanksgiving outfit I went with our comfortable corduroy overalls. The vertical lines in the fabric are really flattering and the overalls help hide my food belly for when I snag my 2nd, 3rd, and sometimes 4th plates of food! >:D
I added a bit of color with our bell sleeve red top. This knit top is pretty warm and I love the tie detailing on the sleeves. To keep warm I went with our shaggy black coat! I was pleasantly surprised how warm it was (we took these photos at 10 am).
To pull this look together and to add a bit of glitz I added a knot headband in my hair. The gold polka dots are festive and with my hair pulled back I can easily stuff my face! Of course, I went with my favorite moon cutout earrings. To keep this casual (it's my mom's house after all) I went with my Superga sneakers but this look would be cute with knee high boots or even ankle booties!
Thankful, thankful, thankful. This time of year is so sweet and makes my heart so happy. It's a time to reflect on all of the good in your life and those who surround you with love all year long. I'm also one of those very odd people who do not like any of the food at thanksgiving so the food is nothing I look forward to like most haha.
For some odd reason everyone always wants to dress up for Thanksgiving even though you're just staying at your house but you know gotta do it from the gram. For my outfit I wanted something practical yet still cute. I chose this long yellow dress. It is very free flowing and is easy to throw on and go about your day. I paired it with a simple black denim jacket with a fun faux fur collar to give it a little pop.
To accessorize it I just chose a simple gold necklace to accent the yellow dress. Nothing too big or heavy that will be weighing on your neck all day long. Paired it with a simple flat because who wants to be in heels all day at home. In reality I'd just be barefoot all the time if I could. I hope you have the best holiday with your loved ones!
We hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Savana as Dancer Emoji Girl 💃
Spooky season is finally here and Halloween is just around the corner! My favorite holiday of the year and I'm ready to be festive! Can you guess what idea I was inspired by? Yup, you guessed it, the fiesta emoji girl!
This red ruffle dress is perfect for dressing up for the holiday! I feel fancy yet festive to step out for a Halloween party. All night long this dress will for sure keep me comfortable with its soft material. So ideal for a long crazy night Halloween might have in store!
You can't wear a dress without adding some bling to it! So I put on a super sparkly rhinestone necklace, and boy, do I feel fancy!! I ended my outfit with silver hoops cause who doesn't love hoops? This costume was so simple to put together but will for sure be an eye catcher!
Sarah L. as Sandy From Grease
My favorite time of the year is here! When I was figuring out what outfit to put together for a costume, I was first looking for something funny/maybe even scary-ish. If we were in the world of Meal Girls, I would be Katy as the dead bride. But after some Pinterest and Google searches, I decided on Sandy from Grease! If I were to have to throw an outfit together last minute, wearing all black would be the easiest to either pull from my closet or pop into the boutique and find the perfect top and bottoms.
I already had a black pair of jeans, but I knew this off the shoulder ruffle top would be the perfect piece to my Sandy Costume. It has long sleeves for the chilly evening and its fitted style is right up Sandy's ally. This is also a top that I know would be a great staple in my closet. There's nothing that drives me more bonkers than buying something for one day and then it sits in my closet collecting dust forever. Also, as an adult I can't imagine spending so much on a cheaply made costume just for one night!
For accessories, I added our jeweled stretchy waist belt and some black pumps. I really love the belt with this look because it adds just a pop of glam the outfit needed. For the final touch I put on a little lipstick and some sassy attitude ;) Happy Halloween! #GhoulsRule
Jourdan as Debbie From The Wild Thornberrys
I'm taking it back to the 90's! I decided to dress as Debbie from The Wild Thornberrys! I love her because she is so sassy and a bit edgy, my favorite combination! Her personality shines through with her outfit, the creators designed a look to help form a clearer picture of her character. I was excited to dress as her because this is definitely an outfit I would wear myself!
Debbie has the classic "I don't care" look with her over-sized plaid shirt and jeans. Yet she still shows off her curves by showing some skin with a tight orange crop top. To match her style, I used an orange bralette with a new green plaid shirt we just got in. This shirt is awesome because it is actually lined with a soft fuzzy material, for sure to keep you warm!
The final piece to her look are blue over-sized distressed jeans. Although they aren't quite as baggy as Debbie's (I don't know how her pants stay up), I used a pair of boyfriend jeans that look very similar. Next all you need to do is add the lips, hair, and attitude, then you're ready for a fun Halloween with some great friends!
Sarah R. as Lydia Deetz From Beetlejuice
Did someone say Halloween?! October has always been one of my favorite months because of the holiday. As I've gotten older my costumes have definitely gotten lamer, but that's one of the best parts about being a mom- I get to dress my kid up and live vicariously through her! Luckily for me I have a fun job that allows me to join in on the festivities, otherwise I'd probably be recycling the same cat ears over and over again. I chose to style my outfit around Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. Who doesn't love Winona Ryder?! She's perfect.
Obviously to have any sort of semblance to Lydia this outfit has to have a lot of black. How fitting for me! It's my color of choice and what I feel best in. To me, there's nothing more chic than an all black outfit. I chose these cropped wide leg pants with a tight fitting top tucked in. I love that the pants are so wide they almost look like a skirt. They are also SO comfortable which is a huge plus, especially if you're going to be out and about on Halloween. I've had cumbersome costumes in the past and I'm just not here for that! The faux leather detailing on the waist of the pants helps break up the black and gives the outfit fun texture.
I tend to run away from anything tight fitting around my neck because it makes me feel like I'm choking, but this top is very soft and stretchy. Again, super comfy! I find the high neck to be very flattering and warm. This shirt also comes in white, camel, and hunter green if black isn't your thing. I sorta want them all! Such a nice basic for the Fall and Winter.
A wide brimmed hat was the iconic accessory Lydia sported in Beetlejuice, so I couldn't skip out on this pretty little felt number. Every time I throw a hat on I instantly feel put together. It's like having a good pair of jeans, but for your head! This is what completed the outfit for me.
I chose a couple dainty black rings and a black feather as finishing touches on the outfit. The gold detailing on the feather adds a little bit of sparkle, which I love. If you decide to rock something similar on Halloween, I would suggest painting your nails black too!
Kate as Jessie James Decker
Happy Halloween! I've never been the biggest participator in Halloween, looking back growing up it makes me laugh because I was so painfully shy that I could never go up to people's door to get candy, so my brother would have to do it for me while I just stood on the sidewalk with my parents waiting for him to be done. Once I got to the age of like 8 my mom finally stopped dressing me up because she knew it scared me so bad to go out haha so I've stayed home and handed out candy ever since.
But since this weeks looks are inspired by Halloween costumes, I chose to be Jessie James Decker. If you don't know of her seriously look her up. She is one of my favorite people to follow, to look up to for fashion, home, and lifestyle. Her family is the sweetest and she is also a singer, so there's pretty nothing she can't do. Her style is probably one of my favorite things about her. She has a way of making her every day style so effortless and so chic at the same time. She also rocks a good flat brim hat all the time which is one of my favorite things to do. I chose to copy of her most recent photo shoots for her new line. I chose these fun rust flowy pants, and paired it with a tight black shirt.
To accessorize it I of course chose a flat brim hat and Jessie is short just like me and always rocks a heel of some kind. I paired my outfit with a fun bootie. She usually doesn't rock too much jewelry so I stuck with a simple gold necklace.. because gold jewelry runs my life. And that's it! Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
Josie as Lara Jean From To All The Boys I've Loved Before
If you haven't seen To All The Boys I've Loved on Netflix yet, then you gotta! It's adorable and fun and the main character, Lara Jean, has the cutest outfits. I went for her back to school look because I like how laid back and ready for fall it is. Since it's still quite warm in Sacramento (go figure) it was an added benefit that the outfit had shorts for staying cool and a layered button up for when the sun sets.
Another reason I went with this outfit is because it's pretty close to my own style. I like layering tops with button ups and knotting them. This button up will be great if you go out on Halloween night because it's sherpa lined, so it's very warm! I wanted to roll up the sleeves to show off the scrunchie (I know she wears one in her hair) but in the movie her favorite scrunchie causes some drama!
The burgundy socks completes the look and connects it with the green plaid button up. These shoes might not be vintage like Lara Jean's but they so comfortable and fun! I loved the extra height they gave me! All that is needed is a brown backpack to hold all your essentials and your own Peter Kavinsky!
Ashley as Baby Spice
Ah, yes! Finally, Halloween is just a week away, so in honor of that we decided to feature a styled by RIRE Halloween costume edition. I chose to style a Baby Spice costume. I must confess that I've been living by the "Spice up your life" motto since like 6th grade. I was always more of a Ginger type girl but I think since I'm actually "preggers" at the moment a Baby Spice look would be more appropriate and equally funny. Halloween is always an extra fun time where you get a free pass to dress up as something your not or something that you think you couldn't normally pull off on the daily, it's a chance to be over the top, so that's what I did!
Baby Spice was super girly and dressed child like with her pastel baby-doll dresses, platform boots and sky high pig tails. For my costume I chose our baby pink midi dress, and giant fuzzy coat. Baby pink was Baby Spices "color" so that actually worked perfectly and the dress looks really sweet and girly. I love the length of the dress as well as the cool ripply texture of the fabric. It features a bardot styled top with a cut out keyhole in the front which feels so sassy and world tour worthy! Now lets talk about that giant fuzzy coat, its amazing, and "SO Spice Girly!" I mean every bad ass girl needs a coat like this, it screams "I've Arrived!" Whats really neat about this fun sherpa style coat is that its actually reversible so either color (the brown or cream) can be featured to your liking. The coat also has pockets on both sides so you wont loose pocket space either, not to mention that its soft as hell!
I chose to accessorize my outfit with a choker necklace and Baby Spices signature sky high pig tails. The black necklace is super posh with a cute moveable diamond pendant and comes with matching gold stud earrings. For the hair style I used our cute sparkly rubber bands for my pop star hair doo, they are only $1 each which is stellar and come in all kinds of colors. I hope that you enjoyed my interpretation of Baby Spice!
