Savana as Dancer Emoji Girl 💃
Spooky season is finally here and Halloween is just around the corner! My favorite holiday of the year and I'm ready to be festive! Can you guess what idea I was inspired by? Yup, you guessed it, the fiesta emoji girl!
This red ruffle dress is perfect for dressing up for the holiday! I feel fancy yet festive to step out for a Halloween party. All night long this dress will for sure keep me comfortable with its soft material. So ideal for a long crazy night Halloween might have in store!
You can't wear a dress without adding some bling to it! So I put on a super sparkly rhinestone necklace, and boy, do I feel fancy!! I ended my outfit with silver hoops cause who doesn't love hoops? This costume was so simple to put together but will for sure be an eye catcher!
Sarah L. as Sandy From Grease
My favorite time of the year is here! When I was figuring out what outfit to put together for a costume, I was first looking for something funny/maybe even scary-ish. If we were in the world of Meal Girls, I would be Katy as the dead bride. But after some Pinterest and Google searches, I decided on Sandy from Grease! If I were to have to throw an outfit together last minute, wearing all black would be the easiest to either pull from my closet or pop into the boutique and find the perfect top and bottoms.
I already had a black pair of jeans, but I knew this off the shoulder ruffle top would be the perfect piece to my Sandy Costume. It has long sleeves for the chilly evening and its fitted style is right up Sandy's ally. This is also a top that I know would be a great staple in my closet. There's nothing that drives me more bonkers than buying something for one day and then it sits in my closet collecting dust forever. Also, as an adult I can't imagine spending so much on a cheaply made costume just for one night!
For accessories, I added our jeweled stretchy waist belt and some black pumps. I really love the belt with this look because it adds just a pop of glam the outfit needed. For the final touch I put on a little lipstick and some sassy attitude ;) Happy Halloween! #GhoulsRule
Jourdan as Debbie From The Wild Thornberrys
I'm taking it back to the 90's! I decided to dress as Debbie from The Wild Thornberrys! I love her because she is so sassy and a bit edgy, my favorite combination! Her personality shines through with her outfit, the creators designed a look to help form a clearer picture of her character. I was excited to dress as her because this is definitely an outfit I would wear myself!
Debbie has the classic "I don't care" look with her over-sized plaid shirt and jeans. Yet she still shows off her curves by showing some skin with a tight orange crop top. To match her style, I used an orange bralette with a new green plaid shirt we just got in. This shirt is awesome because it is actually lined with a soft fuzzy material, for sure to keep you warm!
The final piece to her look are blue over-sized distressed jeans. Although they aren't quite as baggy as Debbie's (I don't know how her pants stay up), I used a pair of boyfriend jeans that look very similar. Next all you need to do is add the lips, hair, and attitude, then you're ready for a fun Halloween with some great friends!
Sarah R. as Lydia Deetz From Beetlejuice
Did someone say Halloween?! October has always been one of my favorite months because of the holiday. As I've gotten older my costumes have definitely gotten lamer, but that's one of the best parts about being a mom- I get to dress my kid up and live vicariously through her! Luckily for me I have a fun job that allows me to join in on the festivities, otherwise I'd probably be recycling the same cat ears over and over again. I chose to style my outfit around Lydia Deetz from Beetlejuice. Who doesn't love Winona Ryder?! She's perfect.
Obviously to have any sort of semblance to Lydia this outfit has to have a lot of black. How fitting for me! It's my color of choice and what I feel best in. To me, there's nothing more chic than an all black outfit. I chose these cropped wide leg pants with a tight fitting top tucked in. I love that the pants are so wide they almost look like a skirt. They are also SO comfortable which is a huge plus, especially if you're going to be out and about on Halloween. I've had cumbersome costumes in the past and I'm just not here for that! The faux leather detailing on the waist of the pants helps break up the black and gives the outfit fun texture.
I tend to run away from anything tight fitting around my neck because it makes me feel like I'm choking, but this top is very soft and stretchy. Again, super comfy! I find the high neck to be very flattering and warm. This shirt also comes in white, camel, and hunter green if black isn't your thing. I sorta want them all! Such a nice basic for the Fall and Winter.
A wide brimmed hat was the iconic accessory Lydia sported in Beetlejuice, so I couldn't skip out on this pretty little felt number. Every time I throw a hat on I instantly feel put together. It's like having a good pair of jeans, but for your head! This is what completed the outfit for me.
I chose a couple dainty black rings and a black feather as finishing touches on the outfit. The gold detailing on the feather adds a little bit of sparkle, which I love. If you decide to rock something similar on Halloween, I would suggest painting your nails black too!
Kate as Jessie James Decker
Happy Halloween! I've never been the biggest participator in Halloween, looking back growing up it makes me laugh because I was so painfully shy that I could never go up to people's door to get candy, so my brother would have to do it for me while I just stood on the sidewalk with my parents waiting for him to be done. Once I got to the age of like 8 my mom finally stopped dressing me up because she knew it scared me so bad to go out haha so I've stayed home and handed out candy ever since.
But since this weeks looks are inspired by Halloween costumes, I chose to be Jessie James Decker. If you don't know of her seriously look her up. She is one of my favorite people to follow, to look up to for fashion, home, and lifestyle. Her family is the sweetest and she is also a singer, so there's pretty nothing she can't do. Her style is probably one of my favorite things about her. She has a way of making her every day style so effortless and so chic at the same time. She also rocks a good flat brim hat all the time which is one of my favorite things to do. I chose to copy of her most recent photo shoots for her new line. I chose these fun rust flowy pants, and paired it with a tight black shirt.
To accessorize it I of course chose a flat brim hat and Jessie is short just like me and always rocks a heel of some kind. I paired my outfit with a fun bootie. She usually doesn't rock too much jewelry so I stuck with a simple gold necklace.. because gold jewelry runs my life. And that's it! Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
Josie as Lara Jean From To All The Boys I've Loved Before
If you haven't seen To All The Boys I've Loved on Netflix yet, then you gotta! It's adorable and fun and the main character, Lara Jean, has the cutest outfits. I went for her back to school look because I like how laid back and ready for fall it is. Since it's still quite warm in Sacramento (go figure) it was an added benefit that the outfit had shorts for staying cool and a layered button up for when the sun sets.
Another reason I went with this outfit is because it's pretty close to my own style. I like layering tops with button ups and knotting them. This button up will be great if you go out on Halloween night because it's sherpa lined, so it's very warm! I wanted to roll up the sleeves to show off the scrunchie (I know she wears one in her hair) but in the movie her favorite scrunchie causes some drama!
The burgundy socks completes the look and connects it with the green plaid button up. These shoes might not be vintage like Lara Jean's but they so comfortable and fun! I loved the extra height they gave me! All that is needed is a brown backpack to hold all your essentials and your own Peter Kavinsky!
Ashley as Baby Spice
Ah, yes! Finally, Halloween is just a week away, so in honor of that we decided to feature a styled by RIRE Halloween costume edition. I chose to style a Baby Spice costume. I must confess that I've been living by the "Spice up your life" motto since like 6th grade. I was always more of a Ginger type girl but I think since I'm actually "preggers" at the moment a Baby Spice look would be more appropriate and equally funny. Halloween is always an extra fun time where you get a free pass to dress up as something your not or something that you think you couldn't normally pull off on the daily, it's a chance to be over the top, so that's what I did!
Baby Spice was super girly and dressed child like with her pastel baby-doll dresses, platform boots and sky high pig tails. For my costume I chose our baby pink midi dress, and giant fuzzy coat. Baby pink was Baby Spices "color" so that actually worked perfectly and the dress looks really sweet and girly. I love the length of the dress as well as the cool ripply texture of the fabric. It features a bardot styled top with a cut out keyhole in the front which feels so sassy and world tour worthy! Now lets talk about that giant fuzzy coat, its amazing, and "SO Spice Girly!" I mean every bad ass girl needs a coat like this, it screams "I've Arrived!" Whats really neat about this fun sherpa style coat is that its actually reversible so either color (the brown or cream) can be featured to your liking. The coat also has pockets on both sides so you wont loose pocket space either, not to mention that its soft as hell!
I chose to accessorize my outfit with a choker necklace and Baby Spices signature sky high pig tails. The black necklace is super posh with a cute moveable diamond pendant and comes with matching gold stud earrings. For the hair style I used our cute sparkly rubber bands for my pop star hair doo, they are only $1 each which is stellar and come in all kinds of colors. I hope that you enjoyed my interpretation of Baby Spice!
Andrea as a Witch
Looking for something to do before Halloween night? Check out all of these events happening in Midtown and Oak Park! The below list and photos provided by the Midtown Association.
We're ALL about vertical stripes here at RIRE. Not only is it slimming, but it gives a more unique look compared to horizontal stripes. This week we have two vertical striped tops that we're styling - one cropped, and one with a knot tie. Both styles come in mustard and a rusty red color. Check below for these easy fall outfit ideas!
Fall colors are forever my favorite! They give any outfit a soft warm look and nothing beats that! I stepped outside my norm and paired a striped mustard knot button up with an olive green corduroy skirt.
When dressing up I was nervous stepping away from my usual distressed jeans and basic tee, but much to my surprise I loved the way these pieces fit and complimented me! I absolutely loved wearing these two together and they perfectly mixed well against my skin tone.
With a long week of school and work, today was a definite "bad hair day" so i threw in a black headband to fix it right up! (And also because I am still a bit obsessed with headbands at the moment). I stuck with a black one so it wouldn't take away from the colors of my clothing.
I accessorized with a cute dainty crossbow necklace and marble necklaces. I added some extra fun with little gold rings. This is an outfit that I see myself wearing to a fun event like the pumpkin patch or a coffee date! The possibilities are endless.
This week on the blog we chose to highlight our new striped tops! These guys are perfect for the changing weather while still keeping things feeling "spicy" as our scorching summer fades away from us. The vibrant colors and striped patterns add much need interest to an outfit without being totally over the top! These are great tops for those who are searching for an easy low maintenance item to add to their wardrobe that packs a huge visual punch! I chose to style the burnt yellow collared shirt for my look.
For this weeks styled outfit I chose to create an "edgy city girl" vibe. I love this top because its so bright and feels like it brings your outfit to life when your wearing it! Its a cotton/rayon blend that feels light and breathable which is a great candidate for layering. I chose to layer this top with our super edgy "greaser-esque" leather jacket, its so comfortable its hard not to feel like Danny Zuko's gal in it. I chose a pair of our KanCan Denim skinny jeans in a light grey wash for my bottom half. These jeans are some of my favorites because they have a nice stretch to them without being super restricting on your every movement.
I accessorized this cute outfit with a pair of really cool silver and pearl moon shaped earrings. These dangling earrings feel unusual and edgy to me so that's why I chose them. I also accessorized my denim jeans with our new black hole punched belt which I feel adds a slight feminine touch due to the floral hole punch pattern on it. Overall I was pretty pleased with this weeks styled look and hope that you enjoyed it as well!
Sarah R.'s Style
Can you believe the weather this weekend? FINALLY Sacramento! It's about time you gave us some cooler days. I hope they're actually here to stay. This week we are showing off these adorable striped tunic tops. Still loving this mustard yellow color, especially for Fall! Vertical stripes are my favorite. They are so flattering.
For me, fall is all about being comfortable and cute. This top is relaxed and oversized, so I paired it with some super stretchy, distressed skinny jeans. The frayed hemline is really on trend right now and adds something fun to a basic pair of denim.
I wanted to try and bring out the pink in the top, so I chose a pink braided bracelet to go with my outfit. I stacked three different gold rings on top of each other and I love how it turned out. Sort of statement, but still delicate and pretty!
I finally feel like I can bust out my fedora and not sweat to death, so I decided to throw that on to cover up my bad hair day! Adding a hat to any outfit is such a nice way to dress it up and I instantly feel more elevated. I know I'll be wearing mine quite a bit this season and probably into winter as well.
Mustard is having a moment this fall and I'm currently falling hard for it. This top is the perfect piece to have in your closet for this fall! You can have it in the mustard color or the rust one. Or why not have both! The cropped one and the longer one for some difference.
For my outfit I chose to tie the top over a longer dress. I like how the top can be worn many different ways, either over jeans or a skirt or my favorite choice a dress. The stripes give a fun break of color to the outfits. The way it buttons and ties help cinch the waist so it gives you a bit more shape and the longer sleeves are perfect for the cooler weather upon us.
To accessorize it I wanted to keep it pretty simple and minimal because I didn't want to take away from the top itself. I chose a simple gold necklace because your girl loves all things gold. A simple flat or fun mule would be great with this outfit!
Sarah L.'s Style
For this week's Styled by RIRE, I was excited to style our striped button up in rust. I usually stray away from tops that are too billowy on top, but I love that the tie front allows you to accentuate the waist slightly. Also this color is one of my favorites for fall!
I styled our top with some distressed black denim for a more casual day look. I love to pair hats with most of my looks, but I think this outfit looks great either way. To dress this look up for a night out with the girls, I would definitely leave the hat at home and switch out my mules for a cute pair of black strappy heels!
To finish off this look, I put on a pair of my favorite pair of earrings that we have in stock right now. These dangly gold earrings are both trendy and versatile. I love how they add an edgy boho vibe to the entire look, and although they look heavy, they are surprisingly very light weight.
As you know Sacramento has been a bit all over the place with weather! The mornings and nights are chilly. It looks like it should be cool in the afternoons, but it still remains warm. The leaves are starting to change color and it's really exciting this time of year! For my look this week I paired with the cropped burgundy striped top with our new black jumpsuit.
The jumpsuit has an overlay deep V and it's definitely more of an evening time/date night look. I wanted to make it more day time friendly so I layered the cropped long sleeve striped top over it. It still has a deep V but with the sleeves and roomy look I felt less exposed.
For my accessories I went with a simple beaded Y necklace. I love this look because it looks as though it just outlines the neckline. I pulled my hair back with a green & floral print scarf. I tied it in a knot and tucked the ends underneath, I love the pop of color against my blonde hair. I adorned my ears with moon cutout earrings. By adding the striped top and giving it more of a casual feel I can see myself wearing this to brunch or a girls night out.
This high-low button up blouse is what I call a closet fan favorite. Although it has great detail, it remains a versatile item to your fall wardrobe. Featured in 2 colors and 2 style choices, I went with the rust top with blue green and cream stripes.
I wanted a casual look since the shirt has a front tie and rolled sleeves, so I wore a muted blue t shirt dress. With its short length and short sleeves, I utilized the top to add a modest element.
I wanted a variety to my accessories, so I chose a silver detail layered necklace, thin silver hoop earrings, a leather bouton cuff, a silver detail bouton ring, and brown cat eye sunniest with gold detail. This effortless weekend look can be worn to a local show, a miniature golf trip, or the local flea market.
Thank you for dropping by! We hope you enjoyed this week's styled looks. See ya next week!
Apple Hill is officially open and to celebrate and get you hyped we have put together six outfits for spending the day at one of the most beautiful places in less than one hours drive of Sacramento. We are taking a hint from the chilly weather and changing of leaves that you'll see up there for all of these inspired looks. For more information on Apple Hill, check out their website here.
What better way to soak in the new season of fall than going to Apple Hill? All the cider, apples, and fun will definitely get you ready for all the exciting festivities this season has to bring!
I stepped away from my usual style of tank tops and wore a striped rust button up shirt! The colors of this top is perfect for the occasion and just screams fall vibes. Stripes never go out of style and the green and white accent the overall rust color of this top making it a perfect match. You can never go wrong with jeans so I wore my favorite pair of distressed dark denim jeans!
I accessorized simple and wore a brown bouton bracelet with warm colors. Since my hair was up in a ponytail I threw on some fun brown bead hoop earrings since they would be more visible! They definitely added more excitement to my overall look! The whole color scheme of my outfit was warm and made me feel cozy which is ideal for me especially in the colder seasons! With this complete outfit I'm so ready for all the food and photos to be taken at Apple Hill!
This weeks blog theme is all about Apple Hill... everyone's favorite fall time day adventure! Lets be honest, there's something about this place that kicks off fall and gives us all the right feels. There's something so exciting and nostalgic about the endless rows of colorful trees, the fresh air, the festive treats galore, and lets just point out that the apples even taste crisper. No, I'm not describing a Hallmark movie, this is real life and its only 45 minutes away!
For my Apple Hill outfit I chose our new mauve pullover sweater paired with our new grey ribbed knit sweater dress over it. I was obsessed with this dress from first sight. I love it! It has a nice heavy weight to it with great coverage and it just feels super well made! The two front pockets are such cute added details and you can put all your treats in them! The Mauve pullover is also another great item that we currently have stocked, its very light weight and ridiculously soft. This sweater is a great item for layering!
I chose to wear one of our customizable button necklaces with my outfit. These are really cool because you can swap out the center button for a different styled one as much as you want. I chose a pearly white stone for mine today. I topped off my styled look with a taupe chunky knitted scarf to achieve a total fall filled look! These scarves are awesome because they are so thick and and also locally made! I hope that you enjoyed this weeks Apple Hill styled look!
The theme for this week is Apple Hill!! With fall knocking at our doors, everyone is making their way up to Placerville for the season's festivities and treats!
I immediately thought of a cozy style with a forgiving waistline, for all the goodies I plan to eat! So I went with a mauve raw hem sweater, stretchy high waisted jeans, and a lightweight camo jacket. Layers is the name of the game this time of year! I chose silver accessories to accentuate the sparkle details in the sweater material. I went with a delicate layered silver necklace, silver hammered hoop earrings, a chain toggle bouton l bracelet, and silver aviator sunglasses.
With this look, I'm ready to hang out at one of my favorite places for fall, from the afternoon until sunset! Bring on those melt in your mouth apple donuts!! And I'll take a pie to go!
It's officially Fall! If you live near Sacramento, one of the favorite fall bucket list items is heading up to Apple Hill. Every year I get super excited to put on my autumn attire and try out apple flavored everything. The cool mornings easily trick me into thinking its *actual* fall weather and I quickly realize how hot it really is. This year I think I'll be layering to make sure I can shed some clothing pieces when the temperatures hit the upper 80's!
When I prep myself for the Fall months wardrobe-wise, I make sure I always have a jean jacket handy. They pair well with pretty much any outfit and go with a majority of colors, depending on the wash. I threw one on over our pocket tee in white and loved the combo with our rust color shorts.
My favorite cheat code to use during this game of transition season weather is wearing summer clothes in autumn colors.
Fall brings so many fun things and activities to do, one in which is hugely popular in the Sacramento region, Apple Hill! I grew up in Northern California where we just went to our towns small pumpkin patch. I recently went to Apple Hill for my first time last year and it was so much fun! Such a different experience from that small town patch. There's really what seems like endless activities you can do there and eat your way through it all. And of course, with fall activities brings being able to dress up for them! Let's be real, that's the best part.
For my Apple Hill Outfit, I wanted something comfortable because you spend a lot of time walking around, but I still wanted it to be super cute and reflect the changing season. I chose this adorable floral dress. The rust color is the perfect match for the season and the floral pattern is perfectly muted to transition into the season. It can sometimes get a little chilly up there in the mountains so I paired it with this adorable corduroy jacket with a fun pop of wool on the collar. The lighter color corduroy pairs well with the rust in the jacket without being too similar.
To accessorize it I wanted to keep it simple. I didn't want a million pieces of jewelry on me. I chose to do these super fun statement earrings that stand out all by themselves and don't need any help. I wanted earrings instead of a necklace just because there's already so much happening with the dress itself I didn't want to overwhelm it. Pair it with a cute pair of clogs or mules and you're ready to spend the day at Apple Hill! Happy Fall Ya'll!
If you're a Sacramento native and you've never been to Apple Hill then you're missing out! Do us all a favor (including yourself) and head up as soon as you can! Right now it's perfect to go because it's not as crowded as it will be in October/November, so you can really relax and connect with yourself and nature. For this week's look I went for a vintage inspired look that barrows colors from nature.
Since it can get quite chilly at Apple Hill I went for this all cotton midi skirt in olive green. The pockets are a life saver so you can easily hold your phone and card without having to lug around a heavy purse all day. To add a bit of contrast I went with this mauve striped blouse. The bell sleeves add style and warmth.
Since this outfit has a bit going out with the buttons, tie, stripes, and bell sleeves I kept my jewelry very minimal. I went with this dark moon necklace. I think it pulls the colors from the top and skirt just perfectly! When you're spending all day at Apple Hill you want to be minimal with jewelry because your hands will get sticky from caramel apples! I also finished my look with brown ankle booties, so if I step on any mud it'll just blend in! ;)
Thank you for visiting us this week! We hope you enjoyed our Apple Hill inspired outfits!
Have fun apple picking and enjoy those pies!
