Welcome back friends! This week we will be styling our Blush Waist Tie Kimono. The warm weather is finally here which means it's time to break out those beautiful kimonos! Layering is great because you can come up with so many different looks. To top it off, this light color is so complimenting on pretty much everyone. Let's check out everyone's look down below!
Kimono's are one of my favorite summer items! They are great for being a little more conservative while staying cool with its light flowy material. A trendy summer look is lots of light layers and kimonos are the perfect item for creating a million different styles! I specifically like the blush pink color for this time of year because it pairs great with all the current bright colors!
I created a dressy look that I adjusted to make slightly more casual. I added a white sheer polka dot top with ruffle sleeves that forms a more sophisticated look. Since the top is see-through, I just wore a simple light gray tank underneath. To dress it down a bit for that everyday look, I tucked the tops in which also gave the outfit some shape. For my bottoms, I decided to keep it simple and went with a pair of dark wash jeans which I folded to make capris.
The biggest factor that determines whether you make this a dressy look or more casual, are the accessories! If I were to dress it up, I would add heels and dangling earrings. However, since I'm dressing it down I paired this outfit with a brown belt and matching brown sandals. Brown is my instant go-to color when trying to dress down any look. Wear this fun casual look to concerts in the park, or go for the more dressier look for date night!
Kimonos are the perfect layering pieces for the summertime. They are typically lightweight and can be a summer staple, worn over a variety of pieces. This on-trend blush colored kimono is so versatile that you can wear it to work or on the weekend.
I created a casual weekend look, by layering the kimono over a classic black tank top. The fabrication of the tank has a super soft feel and is a looser fit that will keep you cool on a hot summer day. With 90 degrees weather in next weeks forecast, I wanted to pair the tank top and kimono with a casual pair of denim shorts. I always like to front tuck the tops into the shorts for a polished look.
With this Kimono you can wear it open or tie the waist tie. I chose to wear it open so I am able to show off my necklace. I accessorized with a long double circle pendant necklace. It's white marble detailing adds a pop and compliments the black tank top. With hotter weather, I like to keep my hair off my face, so I twisted my bangs back and pinned them with a bobbi pin. I chose to do subtle makeup, for a more natural look. For the finishing touch I wore a pair of converse for a casual day out and about.
First off, I love any type of kimono, they add an extra layer of style to an outfit without being over the top. There is an extra feeling of femininity when a kimono is part of your outfit. This week we picked a blush kimono to highlight, the color is soft and warm, which compliments all skin tones. The fabric is a light and flouncy poly-rayon mix that is effortless to maneuver around in through out the day. You can wear this piece open for a more relaxed look or wrapped and tied for a more elevated look.
I chose to pair the kimono with a very summery, floral accented, sun dress with a cutout back. The warm, soft hues of the dress compliment the kimono and give the feeling of a matching collection. I personally paired the dress and the kimono because the kimono adds a little more coverage and for a taller person like me, I might worry the dress would be too revealing worn on it's own. By adding the blush kimono, you are taking a basic sundress and adding another layer of shape and texture. I love the thought of mixing different fabrics and textures, because it adds interest to your outfit.
I chose to stay very simple when choosing the accessories for this styled look. I went with a long circular pendant necklace that had an acrylic pink tortoise accent on it. The warm colors of the necklace and blush hues of the acrylic pendant matched perfectly with the entire outfit. I then felt that since the necklace was on the longer side and the neckline of the dress was so simple, I needed to add another necklace. The second necklace that i chose was had a double gold chain and was very understated and simple. By adding the second necklace the entire outfit looked complete and i was ready to hit the town.
This beautiful kimono was so much fun to style! I love this piece because it's a versatile blush color without a print.
I immediately thought of a dressy attire, and how I could put a casual/sexy spin on it. So I decided to pair the kimono with heels in the same color, a gorgeous cream bralette underneath... (with no top!) and denim shorts.
I kept the fun going with dainty gold necklaces, bold gold earrings, a bouton customizable cuff, and powder pink sunnies. This look can be worn for a night on the town, day party vibes at Punchbowl Social, or paint night at Underground Books! Just depends on how you tie the kimono 😉
Kimonos are great layering pieces that can really elevate most looks. These days it's hard to find a solid color kimono so when we received this blush one I was so excited! The color is light and muted enough to pretty much be played as a neutral. I decided to go for a chic work look that is both comfortable and stylish.
The light blush tone of the kimono was just enough to contrast with the silver grey top. I really liked this combination of colors and was surprised by how much I liked it on since I don't typically wear light colors. I tucked the top into flowy culottes to define my waist. These pants are really cool because they have a split hem and faux leather trim detailing on the waistband.
I adorned my outfit with an abalone bar necklace. I'm loving long bar necklaces but the added detail of the stone really completed this look. For my ears, I went for our new glitter star earrings. These ones are really cool because the stars and glitter are subtle and the gold detail at the top makes it less casual. Since I wanted to go for a daytime work look I opted for brown heels to make it a bit more casual for many offices. However, with a quick swap to black or nude heels, it would be great for grabbing drinks for an evening date.
Kimonos are one of my favorite staple pieces to have in my closet. They work for every season, and especially in summer when you want a little something extra to piece your outfit together but still feel cool in the hot sun. I gravitated towards this one and instantly fell in love because of the light blush color. It pairs perfectly with my closet that is full of cream and neutral colors.
To create a more dressy outfit I paired it with these floral pants that have an extra fun detail with the slit they have in the front that can expose your cute shoes. This could easily transition from a day in the office where you could put on a pair of heels and rule the office and then instantly change into strappy sandals and have it be more casual for an after work date night because the muscle tank I paired it with is easy to dress up or down.
For the accessories, since the kimono and pants had the color of light pink I wanted to accent it with a long statement necklace that had gold and pink in it to pair perfectly with the outfit and pull it all together. You could easily do silver and pink as well! It goes well without stealing the show from the entire outfit.
