Holiday cheer has finally made it's way in! With the start of December there is a lot of hustle and bustle to start gift shopping, food prepping (pies, cookies, and cakes, of course), and clothes shopping for all the upcoming festivities. However, it all starts with the tree! If you haven't gotten your tree yet then we recommend checking out Oak Park's local, The Plant Foundry. They will help you find the perfect tree, and the cool part? They're all named by the awesome staff members. Just because you're picking your Christmas tree doesn't mean you have to dress down, here are some comfortable and stylish looks for when you're ready to pick up your tree!
The holiday season is upon us! It's chilly outside, and we've gotten through Thanksgiving. Now it's time to prepare for Christmas! Shopping during this time of year is always busy, especially when it's time to pick the perfect tree! I find that dressing the part always brings down my anxiety, and brings out my holiday cheer!
Instead of the ugly Christmas sweater vibes, I went with some closet essentials that can be fashioned into festive style! I wore forest green cropped pants, and a black knit top with a gorgeous back cutout and layered ruffle sleeves.
These two items alone make such a huge statement, that I only needed a few accessories to seal the deal. I went with a layered gold necklace, gold drop earrings, and a black with gold detail beaded bracelet. This look can be dressed up with heels- appropriate for a toast after finding the perfect tree- or dressed down with flat ankle boots for the transportation of the tree! With either look, it's obvious that your wardrobe isn't a worry for the holidays!
It's the most magical time of the year! Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday. I grew up where it would snow all winter long and around Christmas time the whole town just felt like a Hallmark movie, which is where my love for it all came from. A family tradition we have always done is gone up to the mountains and cut down our tree. We still do it today, even though my family lives in all different parts of California we all still meet up and cut down our tree, it's a pretty special thing.
I'm usually not practical when it comes to dressing for getting our tree. I always know we're going to take pictures so I end up being cute and freezing but loving it anyways haha. For my outfit I chose this adorable linen jumpsuit. I have a recent obsession with linen and jumpsuits so this was a match made in heaven for me. It is so cute and yet you can easily move around in it. I paired it with a cream sweater underneath it.
To accessorize it I added a belt to help tighten the jumpsuit. For jewelry I kept it very simple and sweet with a dainty necklace and a fun pair of earrings. I always pair jumpsuits with a heeled shoe of some sort, mainly because I'm so short and need that extra height so the pant legs don't touch the ground. I hope you all have such a Merry Christmas!
Sarah R.'s Style
Growing up we've always had fake trees because my mom hates mess and it was "just easier" with a the same fake tree each year. It wasn't until I met my boyfriend did I ever have a "real" tree for Christmas. To make a special day out of it I went with a casual but flirty outfit.
I went with our dark, sleek Kan Can denim jeans. Dark wash jeans always add a hint of pulled togetherness, style, and sophistication. I paired it with our linen button up top. The knot adds a bit of casualness but the bell sleeves give it charm and a side of sass.
For my accessories I added a pop of color with our plaid hunter green cap. I am really loving this deep green against my blonde hair. Since it can be muddy while picking out the perfect tree I opted for my Chelsea rainboots.
How is it December already?! It feels like it was just not too long ago that I was taking the ornaments off our Christmas tree and now it's already time to get a new one. While going to get a new tree you know I had to still dress up!
I wanted to get into the spirit of the holiday while shopping for a tree so I decided to go with a Christmas green bomber jacket! Not only is the color perfect for any occasion, but it'll for sure be keeping me warm when I'm outside in the cold weather. Too keep it a bit simple I wore a plain white tank top under the jacket but tied a knot in the front to still add a little fun.
When shopping for the right tree I wanted to be as comfy as can be so I threw on a pair of dark denim jeans. Jeans were also the perfect choice for the occasion because you never know if you'll get dirty at the tree farms!
I accessorized easy with a three layer brown beaded necklace. The necklace added just enough sass to my outfit, while the brown color kept my overall look warm. I finished off with a cheetah scrunchy to add some fun pattern in my outfit and now I'm ready to shop!
Thanks for dropping by!
We hope you feel inspired just before you decorate your Christmas tree!
See you next week.
